Evidence We've Gathered:

Cumberland Hotel Footage

McDonald's Footage

Aerial Shot

Picnic tables

Cars in 24hr McDonald's parking lot at the time of the theft that might have seen something

This is a different truck and trailer, but this is where ours were parked.

Broken Glass - (cue Annie Lennox song)

One of two cigarette butts I picked up. This one has glass stuck in it. Does anyone have access to fingerprinting or DNA?? (Yes, I'm serious.)

Spot where they possibly hopped the fence.

Stuff We Know

  • The truck has two fuel tanks. One was completely full which is enough to go 150-200 miles.

  • The Jeep probably had a full gas tank.

  • There have been multiple "sightings" never with photographic evidence and it always "gets away". Two of them were found to be two different friends towing blue Jeeps, so we're assuming that's what the rest of them were. It's possible they were out moving it just once, but I doubt they're just driving the truck, trailer and Jeep around for fun. There's also the conspiracy theory that one or more of these "sightings" are posted by people involved and they're trying to throw us off.

  • The topper on the truck is a Flip-Pac topper. It is not a camper (they look very different) and this has led to some confusion.

  • The F350 truck is not a dualy.

  • The trailer is faded red and it's a two-car so it's very long and sticks out because it only has one Jeep on it. We doubt the Jeep is still on the trailer, though.

  • There was a McDonald's worker spraying the parking lot between 4:30 and 5am that morning. He says he thinks he saw two black males and possibly one white male sitting at the picnic tables in the corner of the parking lot. They can't be found on the video, though. It doesn't seem like he's involved at all and, no, he didn't see or hear anything else that morning.

  • There is absolutely nothing else on the two hotel cameras so it's not someone that was dropped off in a car or walked from the street.

  • They person or persons either parked on the shoulder of I-75 and hopped the fence or they were parked in McDonald's parking lot and walked into the hotel lot from there.

  • We were hoping there might have been some truckers in the area with dash cams that might have gotten something. Again, it was 10/22/14 around 4:40am.

  • These were all taken from the Cumberland Inn in Williamsburg, KY not from our shop in Louisville, KY. Max had just driven down there and arrived around midnight. He was there for the Gateway to the Cumberlands Jeep Jamboree. Someone busted the window then either hotwired it or something else. (No, he didn't leave the keys in the truck.) There were lots of other trucks and trailers there but we were lucky enough to be chosen (which the thieves may have known what they were getting or it's just a fluke.) It wasn't until around 8am when people were getting up that it was reported to the police.

  • I'm sure there is more, I'll add as we think of it.
