About Max and Moab Offroad
Max and Moab Offroad
As a teenager, Max Dollinger started out as a gas attendant at Chevron becoming a mechanic at Springdale Automotive. And at the young age of 23, purchased Moab Offroad and became a business owner. Since then, he has lived and breathed his business putting blood, sweat and tears into everything he's done. The Jeep YJ that was stolen was the first owner's Jeep and has been with the business for 20 years. Max has spent hundreds of hours modifying and taking care of it. The truck and trailer are what got his Jeep and other Jeeps back and forth to events and trail rides. These things that were stolen weren't just vehicles; they were the tools Max used to do his business, a business that thousands of people consider a treasure to the Jeep community. This loss is devastating and we hope that if anyone knows even the smallest detail about where they might have gone, we beg you to come forward. Thank you.
A little background - Yes, Moab Offroad did originate in Moab, Utah as well as a couple other locations in the 1990's by a group of guys including one in Louisville, KY. In 1999, the Louisville store was bought by Max Dollinger. Operations for the business consolidated to the Louisville location where it has operated ever since.
We have a brick & mortar shop and showroom located in the heart of Louisville, KY. 80% of our business is maintenance, repairs, installations and full customizations on Jeeps but we also work on Toyotas, full-size trucks, etc. We are open M-F 9a-6p EST and 11a-3p on Saturdays unless we're out wheelin'. Join our forum to see our build threads and trail riding schedule. We're often out on local club rides, customer appreciation trail rides, a few Jeep Jamborees working as trail guides and the occasional cross-country trip to Utah or California.
We are proud of all of the work we've done but some of the more recognizable rigs we've worked on have been for GenRight, Hi-Lift, Bushwacker, MoabJeeper.com and Huntin' With Heroes. We've been featured in Peterson's 4Wheel & Offroad, FourWheeler Magazine, JP Magazine and MoabJeeper.com. If you check out our YouTube channel, you can see a few of the things we do and a bit of the ridiculousness that goes on at the shop.
